Hello everyone,
Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Mo. Kate
Campbell, Vicar of the Episcopal Church of the Savior in
Clermont. That's the old stone church on Mill St.
with the statue of the Speaker of the House in front.
I live in Charles City, about an hour and a quarter from
Clermont, but I've been enjoying the drive to Clermont
for the past fifteen years. Since Pastor Gene is
no longer camping at Skip-A-Way because of his wife's
illness, Terri has asked me to serve as your summer
pastor. I've been an Episcopal priest for
over twenty years, all of them serving tiny congregations
in Northeast Iowa. Our congregation in Clermont is
tiny, too. Our membership has just broken into
double digits and we're raising funds to get the
church's first bathroom since it was built in 1867.
You'll be meeting some of our members, since they will
hold services during the time I will be away and are
excited at the prospect of meeting you.
After our first service, we'd like to have a business
meeting. I have been told that you are very
generous with Sunday collections and this would be a
good time to establish new directions for the use of
your generous support.
Also, I believe it would be helpful to have someone
who would serve in the capacity of a secretary-treasurer
to keep track of your donations and disbursing the funds
towards the agreed upon causes. I could also use
assistance with planning for any special events you may
request. So why not give some prayerful
consideration to how you'd like to serve the chapel this
summer?
I'm looking forward to meeting and serving you this
summer.
With best wishes and blessings--Kate
